Pastor Donald Hyler was born in Norfolk, Virginia in 1957. In 1963, as a five year old child, he and his family moved to California and settled in Richmond. In 1966, he and his sister began riding a Sunday School bus to the United Pentecostal Church in San Pablo. In February of 1967, he and his mother received the Holy Ghost in a revival; and, within a few months, his father was also converted.
In January of 1976, Pastor Hyler moved to Fresno and began attending Truth Tabernacle. Under the direction of Pastor Vaughn Morton, he prepared for and entered full-time ministry as an evangelist in July of 1982. After nearly five years of travel as an evangelist he accepted the call to become pastor of Landmark Tabernacle.
Since becoming pastor of Landmark Tabernacle, the church has grown, built another sanctuary to accommodate additional growth, begun a Christian school, and is continually involved in many other evangelistic efforts. The focus of Landmark Tabernacle continues to be in developing a relationship with Jesus, having a vision to reach our world, and establishing in the faith those whom the Lord adds to the church.
Pastor and Sister Hyler have been happily married for over forty years, and have three children and seven grandchildren.
